But after some time, the state government has gotten some support. Mayor Steve Sisolak said he's committed to moving the existing Capitol complex and other land that is available for federal development at the White House and State House, and it could allow U.S. federal infrastructure to be upgraded to better meet environmental and health requirements.

Now, the Legislature considers the idea, which he is co-authoring at a Tuesday session. A joint session is scheduled for April 27.
