The first two pages take us back to the early-1960s and the moment when the National Guard arrived at my dad's house in South Florida. It was one of those times where life was going wild, people were sick and people were making mistakes.

But when my dad returned I was in that situation again. For the first time in my life, I felt like I was actually a man, and I wanted that. I wanted to be a man on the streets, living like I was a human being. I felt like I could make this transition and it became to be the way I felt. So I'm all one, but the fact that I'm all one speaks to things like how much fun everything is when you realize you're two.

And my family is a very special place. It's been 100 years and we were lucky enough to finally get our families together.

This week, my dad and I celebrate his 40th birthday in New York. A few guys were at the wedding to celebrate. They weren't on my dad's side, so I asked them who you were. And then his wife was the one who took a picture with me every time we got to the beach. They were so happy.

So, to my father, to her daughters, to our great-grandchildren—the many, many people who came to
